Pam McMichen, EdS, LPC

Pam McMichen, EdS, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Georgia. She has experience working with families and children in various capacities since 1995. Pam holds a Bachelors degrees in psychology and a Bachelors degree in music from the University of South Carolina. She also obtained a Masters degree in Professional Counseling and a Specialists degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. While obtaining her Masters degree, Pam focused on treatment related to adults.

 

She specialized in the treatment of children while obtaining her Specialists degree. Pam studied with internationally recognized experts in the field of Play Therapy, including Dr. JoAnna White and Dr. Lauren Wynn. She has been a guest speaker at the National Convention for the Association for Play Therapy and has provided other training opportunities locally.

 

Pam has worked in clinical positions related to victim advocacy (Clayton County District Attorney's Office), child advocacy (Rainbow House Child Advocacy Center), in-home intensive treatment (Transitional Family Services), severe and pervasive mental health (Atlanta Behavioral Psychiatric Facility), and private practice. She served as the clinical director for Camp Horizon from 2008 to 2014. Camp Horizon was a local non-profit camp for grieving children started by the Sacred Journey Hospice Foundation.

 

Pam started Crossway Counseling Center, LLC in January of 2011 and has since added several other clinicians and front office staff. Pam currently does extensive work with clients of all ages and specializes in trauma work, stress management, children, parenting and spiritual issues. Pam married her husband in 1998 and they have two daughters. The McMichen family is very active with their local church and in the community. Pam has accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and works daily to uphold Christian morals and ethics.
